Graphic leather pocket

Necessary material:

  • White faux leather
  • Gold leather paint
  • A brush
  • A ruler
  • A pair of scissors
  • A needle
  • Magnetic snap button
  • Golden tube bead
  • Sewing machine

  1. Cut a rectangle out of the leather coupon, three times the size of the desired pouch. Also, allow an edge of about 1 cm all around.
  2. To make sure you have the correct size, fold the piece of leather into three parts to form the pouch.
  3. Stroke the entire surface of the leather coupon with gold paint.
  4. Hem the bottom of the piece of leather. To do this, fold the short edge inward and sew in a straight stitch to secure the hem. Fold the leather to form a pocket, as you have already done, but this time inside out.
  5. Sew the sides of the pocket to the hem, 1 cm from the edge, from the wrong side.
  6. Trim the excess leather on the flap to the stitch line you just made and drawing ideas.
  7. Turn your pouch over and snap on the button.

Necessary material:

  • Fabric scraps
  • A 28 cm – 30.5 cm zipper
  • Straight pins
  • Sewing machine
  • Iron-on (optional)

  1. We choose three matching fabrics. For this sewing project, we use one brown corduroy fabric, one mustard yellow fabric, and one indigo blue fabric with polka dots and stripes.
  2. For this pouch, we opt for a corduroy bottom.
  3. Assemble the corduroy rectangle with the other two fabrics, right sides together, to form a long rectangle of fabric. Sew in a straight stitch.
  4. Fold the fabric in half, turn inside out and close the sides in a straight stitch. Turn the pouch over.
  5. To make the lining, cut a 30 × 63.5 cm rectangle in the yellow fabric. If you want to use a fusible material, apply a stabilizer to the liner using an iron. Warning: Avoid direct ironing if your fusible interfacing is not heat resistant. Sew the sides of the pocket on the sewing machine.
  6. Insert the liner into your pocket.
  7. Put on the zipper. To do this, use the zipper foot on the sewing machine.

Necessary material:

  • Two squares of different fabrics of 38 × 38 cm, one for exterior, the other for the interior
  • A pair of scissors

  • Sewing machine

Sewing the zipper:

  1. Overcast the edges of the fabrics with zig-zag stitches.
  2. Place your denim fabric right side up and arrange the zipper at the top of the fabric, the wrong side of the zipper against the fabric. Pin and stitch the first part of the zipper all the way through. Then place the lining inside out on the zipper and topstitch.
  3. Do the same with the other side of the closure. Open the future kit.
  4. Fold the exterior fabric back towards the zipper. Sew the edges of the kit.
  5. Turn everything over through the zipper opening and topstitch.

The shaping of the kit:

Turn your pencil case over and fold its two corners, as shown in the first photo below. Sew around the corner, with a seam allowance of 2.5 cm from the tip. Cut the ends and topstitch in zig-zag stitch. Turn the kit over again.
